Dispatcher

We are currently hiring a Dispatcher, based out of our Vaughan Location.  This position will be reporting to the Transportation Manager, NRV and is accountable for the smooth, safe and efficient distribution operations while maintaining customer service and positive employee relations.  

**This is a 12-hour Night Continental Shift **

Key Responsibilities:

People Management:

  1. Schedule and dispatch all drivers as necessary to meet the needs of the business.
  2. Assign/Route drivers to outbound deliveries & pickups as required.
  3. Train and onboard drivers for compliance with policies and mobilecast network.
  4. Enforce compliance to all DOT, Customer and MTO safety rules and regulation.

Daily Operation:

  1. Assign assets for all routes
  2. Route and assign sales orders, deliveries and pickups to ensure efficiency, cost effectiveness and compliance to customer delivery windows.
  3. Ensure all COD shipments are collected and complete.
  4. Print and review all required paperwork both company and governmental.
  5. Ensure all products are protected in the correct temperature environment.
  6. Support procedure to ensure all products are delivered in a safe and compliant manner.
  7. Maintain a clean and safe work environment

 

Communication:

  1. Maintain communication with all driving staff throughout their shift.
  2. Utilize all methods of communication supplied including cellular phone, mobilecast and emails.
  3. Notify all required parties of service failures and returns.
  4. Report any safety concerns to the appropriate management level and provide feedback to the drivers directly.
  5. Maintain communication with other shifts, other departments and customers to ensure optimum service levels and efficiency.

 

Record Keeping:

  1. Ensure all movements are routed and captured correctly in Mobilecast.
  2. Record and log all driver absenteeism concerns in log.
  3. Complete and submit all accident or incident investigation reports accordingly.
  4. Maintain and communicate all service failures to the appropriate next level.
  5. Maintain and file all required MOT paperwork for audit compliance.

 

Customer Focus:

  1. Monitor and report on employee attendance as per posted schedules.
  2. Ensure compliance with customer delivery windows and completeness of delivery.

 

Inventory Control:

  1. Maintain and report on fleet levels, fuel and supply levels as replenishment is required.
  2. Maintain and ensure correct maintenance/cleanliness levels are maintained to company & MTO expectations.
  3. Any other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  1. Post- secondary education in business or supply chain management an asset.
  2. Certified Forklift & Pallet truck operator
  3. English, written/oral, basic math skills
  4. Warehouse experience a must, produce experience an asset
  5. Computer literacy
  6. Supervisory experience is required
  7. Knowledge of  safety rules and regulations
