Warehouse Operations Manager
We are currently hiring a Warehouse Operations Manager, based out of our Vaughan Facility. This position is accountable for leading the warehouse team in the creation and maintenance of a positive, safe, customer focused, efficient and productive warehouse operation.
Key Responsibilities:
People Management:
- Recruit, welcome, orient, train, coach, review performance and develop employees. Create and maintain a positive, safe, customer focused, efficient and productive warehouse operation through the effective leadership and engagement of all employees. Address issues and concerns in a productive manner, compliant with policies, procedures and code of conduct standards.
Communication:
- Ensure effective and timely communication with your team and with other departments in the organization to ensure alignment, understanding, clear directives and team focus.
Morale:
- Create and maintain a fully engaged team.
Daily Operations:
- Manage the operations to ensure product integrity, cleanliness, HACCP and safety compliance, effective product rotation, storage, shipping, receiving and on time product deliveries.
Inventory Management:
- Manage and coordinate storage, shipping and receiving processes and procedures to ensure inventory accuracy – investigate shorts/overs – trouble shoot issues and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Reporting & Administration:
- Ensure accurate and detailed administration and reporting on all required documentation (H&S/WSIB/HR/Productivity/etc.) – monitor and track productivity – make recommendations for improvement
Customer Support:
- Ensure customer satisfaction through professional behaviors of self and team, effective product handling and timely communications.
Productivity:
- Manage schedules in compliance with legislation, policies, procedures and operational needs - create/evolve existing policies and procedures to increase efficiencies, eliminate non value added tasks, reduce costs and improve overall productivity
Cost Management:
- Track and manage all internal costs to ensure cost containment. Attain approval for all expenditures and implement cost savings initiatives and ideas as directed
Any other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- University Degree or Diploma in Business or Supply Chain Management
- 5+ years’ experience working with fresh produce in distribution, warehousing or logistics businesses
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in warehousing, shipping and receiving
- 5+ years’ experience managing and implementing health and safety rules and regulations
- Understanding of HACCP and its implications on internal processes and procedures
- 5+ years’ experience managing 10 – 30 employees
- Experience managing conflicting priorities
- Competent with Microsoft Suite of products
- Experience using inventory systems and programs
