Assistant Warehouse Supervisor

We are currently hiring an Assistant Supervisor/Checker, based out of our Ontario Food Terminal location.  This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the warehouse during scheduled shifts, perform checking, shipping and receiving functions as required and support management by supervising the shift employees in compliance with the union contract. This position will be reporting to Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate deliveries in the market

  2. Maintain proper handling and quality of the produce

  3. Maintain the quality and image of the selling floor

  4. Ensure proper pallet return/exchange

  5. Shipping and receiving

  6. Coordinate customer credit returns, documentation and reporting

  7. Ensure on time product deliveries

  8. Ensure that all outgoing orders are accompanied with appropriate documentation

  9. Assist with new hire and existing staff on the job training as required

  10. Maintain good relationships and communication with internal and external customers

  11. Assist with inventory counts and inventory management

  12. Assist with customer orders and ensure customer satisfaction

  13. Ensure the clean /safe condition of the warehouse to operating and legislative standard

  14. Supervise warehouse staff to ensure maximized productivity, smooth flow of product in and out
    bound, product integrity, inventory and efficient management of employee schedules (breaks/lunches/etc.)

  15. Opening and closing of facilities

  16. Any other duties as required

 

Qualifications:

  1. Certified Pallet truck/power machine operator

  2. English, written/oral, basic math skills

  3. Warehouse experience a must, produce experience an asset

  4. Computer literacy

  5. Leadership or Supervisory experience a plus

  6. Knowledge of safety rules and regulations
